Connie Crawford T-shirt not so great fit

I made the t-shirt with no changes except for a high round back adjustment to see how it would fit. It's better than most about being smaller in the shoulders but is still way to big for my narrow shoulders. I love the fit from the bust down. It's the perfect amount of ease for me. I just need to figure out the best way to make an adjustment for the narrow shoulders. I'm not sure when the difference is so extreme if it's easier to start with several sizes smaller in the shoulders and size up the bottom or the other way around. Will just have to try both ways and see. Most things I've read say to use small size and add for the rest so will try that method first.

  1. I was sure this one was going to work better that this for you. Try taking a tuck along the center of the shoulder to see if that brings the shoulders up to where you need them.

  4. I have always fit my neckline and shoulder with the correct size pattern for those, and then altered the rest of the pattern to my measurements. Tops, jackets, shirts--all of those hang from the shoulders, and should be fit in that area first. Try again. Don't give up!

  5. I agree with gwensews. I tried one of the CC patterns. They do not work for me. They are too narrow in the shoulders and too big everywhere else. I say toss that pattern and don't look back. Of course if you would like to try some different patterns of hers I'd be more than happy to send you the ones I have. They are brand new in the package and won't ever be used by me! Then again I should just exchange them during the next Butterick sale!
